Although education research has many implications for improving student outcomes in mathematics, more work is needed to successfully and sustainably translate research findings into practice. This interactive presentation will focus on what we know as a field about effective and efficient ways to improve student outcomes in mathematics, and what that could or should mean for mathematics departments. Improving student outcomes sustainably involves not just making individual, isolated changes, but whole departments investing in addressing complex systems. This presentation will seek to inspire attendees with next steps to address equitable teaching and learning mathematics in their local contexts.
