Undergraduate research is widely understood to fosterpersistence in STEM majors andcareers. Extra-curricular UR programs are difficult to organize and sustain, and may not be available to a relevant segment of the student population. We will report on two independently designed course-based undergraduate research experiences, and discuss what we have learned about running such a course.
